Box Pleating

Box pleating also dates back to the 16th century costumes and the Italian Renaissance.

Box pleating is basically, two knife pleats "back to back".

This is usually used for school uniforms and kilts

Box pleats are generally wider than knife pleating but the 3:1 ratio remains the same.

Sizes range from 1½" x 1/2 "underlay to 3½" x 1" underlay

Maximum drop (waist to floor) 900 mm lengths (around waist 4 metres)
